Mary Ann Harper, El Dorado Rose – 2011, has agreed to share her reign with our Center. Each month, Mary Ann will offer us a look at what is happening as a result of her special status.

Wednesday, February 15th Attended the monthly El Dorado Rose Program meeting.

Friday, February 17th – There were eight of us from the Rose Court who met at the Shingle Springs Community Center to learn how to make cloth flowers.  Bev, our generous instructor from Fair Oaks, donated her time, talent and materials as we began whipping little cloth circles into beautiful flowers to pin on the lapel or to wear in the hair.  These will be sold by the Roses at their booth during the Shingle Springs Peddler’s Fair, May 20, 2012.

Thursday, February 23rd – Harry was my escort at the Shingle Springs / Cameron Park monthly mixer.  This month it was held at the Shingle Springs Community Center.  President Dan McPherson introduced the board members to the chamber members as he proudly showed them the improvements to the hall.  Also introduced and thanked were the committee members who so graciously decorated the hall and provided the refreshments for the evening.  As the chamber members mingled, mixed and networked with each other and the members of the community center, the beautiful background music provided by Jamie Faw and both of his wonderful musicians.  It was a wonderful, wonderful evening and Pres McPherson was very proud to show off the hall, the members, the food and the music.
